Chocolate Covered Popcorn has a shelf life of two months. days until New Years, and Kwanzaa in between, many are wondering when to get gifts. This question often arises when said gifts are edible, and unfortunately perishable, such as Chocolate. But if you’re wondering if the Chocolate Covered Popcorn under the tree will go stale before you have a chance to open it, you may be surprised. Pure chocolate on its own tends to last around a year. (Yes, that’s right, a whole year!) So unless you’re already stocking up for next year’s holiday season, your gift of deliciousness should be fine. Typically, items that are covered in chocolate have shorter shelf lives than the chocolate itself. The chocolate, however, does help protect from the outside environment; because of this, we have items in the store that are good anytime between a few days to a few months. Rollins College, the oldest college in Florida, right here in Winter Park! It was a busy weekend here at Peterbrooke, and the rest of the Avenue was no exception. Winter Park bustled with activity this Rollins Family Weekend. Families, friends, colleges, roommates, and faculty of Rollins College celebrated their education and heritage of the historic college. (There’s a lot to know, with Rollins being the oldest college in Florida and all.) But after the official tours were over, the real fun began. Our chocolatiers opened the doors in the morning to a crowd of Rollins family members and students, all having a blast on the avenue. Friends of all kinds shared Gelato, Hot Sipping Chocolate, and Chocolate Covered, well, everything.
But just because Monday has come and classes have resumed, it doesn’t mean that the fun is over. Peterbrooke Chocolatier of Winter Park wishes to remind Rollins students, faculty, and staff that not only are we open 7 days a week to help you get a chocolate fix, but we also extend a 10% discount to you as well. That’s right, just bring in your R-card or ID and get 10% off, just for being awesome. After all, you’re part of the family, too.  With Florida, you never really know what kind of weather you’re going to get. Hot, cold, damp, dry, or somewhere in-between. However, the past few days have not only been nice, they’ve been downright phenomenal. There has never been a better week to walk down Park Avenue, and it seems like it’s only going to get better. If you’re a fan of the cold, though, never fear! With hundreds of new faces on the Avenue in just two days, the Art Festival was an exhilarating experience. Broissants were everywhere, chocolate was flying, and smiles were abundant. Needless to say, it was a tasteful, fantastic event. We hope you all got some artwork to take home, chocolate or otherwise.
We even got a visit from Chef Edu Guedes, from the popular Brasilian television show Hoje Em Dia! Thanks Visit Orlando for showing us off, we love you guys! To everyone who came out this weekend, we thank you for making it a special one. Make sure you come out next weekend and grab a Broissant while you still can (throughout October on Saturdays and Sundays). Until then, we still have plenty of frozen bananas, popcorn, gelato, and well, everything else amazing and chocolatey you need to get you through a Monday. Hope to see you soon!  This weekend is the 41st Annual Winter Park Autumn Art Festival. With hundreds of artists and showcases filling up the entire park, this is a festival worth attending. It’s completely free, and there will be food trucks, activities and fun all around. Peterbrooke is gearing up for the art festival, too. With a Broissant Bar outside and all our other goodies inside, there’s no better place to stop by for a snack. Grab a Broissant and a scoop of gelato to top it off with, like our team member Kay.
